How to Heal a 5 player instance on a Restoration Shaman in World of Warcraft WOW

Healing can often be intimidating for gamers, well fear no more! This guide will show you the exact steps involved in effectively healing a 5 player group on a Restorative Shaman in World of Warcraft. Following this simple rotation and set of guidelines will help you on your way to being a great healer.
Step 1Once you have found a balanced group and are ready to buff and prepare, adjust your Totems. You have 4 different types of Totems Earth, Fire, Water, and Wind. For the Earth Totem you should be using Strength of Earth Totem to benefit your tank and melee DPS. For the fire Totem, use Flametongue Totem to benefit your healing bonus as well as spell casting DPS. For Water, Use either the Healing Stream Totem to add additional health per second to your party or Mana Spring Totem to increase the mana regeneration per second of your party. For your last totem, wind, use Wrath of Air Totem to increase the spell haste of your party. Use Cleansing Totem, Mana Tide Totem, and Tremor Totem as necessary. *Totems are essential to you healing properly, and are one of your only methods of buffing other group members. Avoid being called a "lazy shaman" and be sure to put your Totems out during every fight!

Step 2Target your tank and place Earth Shield spell on him/her. Earth Shield spell will cause some of the attacks against the tank to heal them. Throughout the entire instance, keep Earth Shield spell on the tank and you will find your job becomes a little easier.

Step 3Place Water Shield on yourself, to help with your mana regeneration, along with Earthliving Weapon to increase your healing. Keep these two buffs on yourself throughout the entire instance. That is all it takes to prepare for the instance, you're ready for battle!

Step 4When your tank makes a pull be sure that he or she has Earth Shield spell on them. After that, put your totems down and place a Riptide spell on your tank. This is one of the most important spells to use and to try to keep on your tank during a fight. It will not only heal them immediately but has a healing over time effect (Hot). You also have the option of consuming the Riptide spell with a Chain Heal spell and increasing the healing of your Chain Heal spell for a substantial amount.

Step 5On average, the Earth Shield spell, Riptide spell, along with an occasional Healing Wave/ Lesser Healing Wave spell will be a sustaining amount of healing for your tank. For healing your DPS you will be using the Chain Heal spell. This is a powerful (AOE) heal that will heal multiple members at a time. You will have your tank targeted about 95 % of the time. If you do have some badly placed group members that the Chain Heal spell is not affecting, you can change your target for the chain heal spell or individually heal them with a lesser heal spell. *A great spell to pair with your Chain Heals, Healing Wave, and Lesser Healing Wave is Tidal Force. Tidal Force increases the critical strike chance of those healing spells, it should be used whenever possible to increase your healing.

Step 6This basic repetition of Earth Shield, Riptide, and Chain Heal will be your main "rotation" throughout any instance you run.

As we all know, circumstances do happen, i.e.: accidental face pulls, pats, agro, etc. During rough circumstances using Natures Swiftness will allow you an instant heal on a spell you would regularly have to wait for a cast time on, such as Healing Wave, Lesser Healing Wave, and Chain Heal.
